Byzantine Museum

The Byzantine Museum of Chios is housed in the Ottoman mosque which dates back to the 19th century. The museum has been operating since 1980 and hosts donations, finds from local excavations and frescoes of the church of Panagia Krina. In the courtyard there are stone objects exhibited such as tombstones of Muslim and Jewish graves and sculptures of the Genoese occupation (1345-1566).
