The Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Chios has been operating since 1999 in a 3 storey building of a total area of 2,500m2 which includes exhibition rooms, workshops and offices. The exhibition space houses finds from the Neolithic era to the Classical and Roman period. Upstairs there are exhibits of the prehistoric Chios, vases and sculptures originating from the 8th century bc as well as tombstones and inscriptions. The second floor houses pottery, metalwork and architecture samples. The third floor hosts contemporary exhibitions. A cafeteria is disposed and there are rooms available for conferences, seminars and educational activities.
