Nenita

Nenita is a large village with several districts. The people are involved in agriculture and the production of mastiha. There are many churches in the village such as Virgin Mary, St. Isidore, St. Anargyroi and Kato Panagia. The main temple of the village is St. George. Also, near the village there is the great monastery of the Archangels. Another nice church is that of St. Tryphon where the Aegean Botanic Garden is located in lovely surroundings. A special part of Nenita is its traditional dance. Its called "Tripatos" and it is still danced at each festival.
Nenita has two havens. Vokaria is placed in the north side of the village and Gridia in the south. The village feast day is on June 5th and August 15th.
